Which is better, LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics? ›

For the purpose of understanding if there is any quality difference between Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp, the answer is no, they both use the highest quality standards and machines.

Drug test results are typically released within 24-72 hours of a specimen's arrival at the laboratory. We are not able to provide donors with information regarding the status of a specimen or the result of a drug test.

Complete Blood Count (CBC)

A CBC is a blood test that gives your doctor a good picture of your overall health. It can measure different components and features of your blood, including: The number and size of red blood cells (these cells carry oxygen) The number of white blood cells (these cells help fight infection)

Results delivery is based on how your tests were ordered or purchased. If your healthcare professional ordered your tests, your results are sent directly to your healthcare professional as soon as testing is complete.

The grey zone approach would allow a differentiated attitude towards results: definitely negative (no further action), most certainly positive (requiring verification) and 'grey' (requiring another test or a follow-up).

Getting your blood test results

You may get your blood test results after a few days, and usually within a few weeks. If you do not hear anything after a few weeks, contact the GP surgery or specialist. The GP, nurse, or specialist should talk to you about your results and explain what happens next.

Most routine blood tests will take 72 hours. The following blood tests will take longer: Diabetes blood test (Hba1c) – 1 week. Rheumatoid Arthritis blood test – 1 week.

These guidelines should be followed for submission of urine tests: Collect at least 10 ml of urine. We try and standardize the volume of urine used for urinalysis. This is impossible to do if samples ranging from 0.5 ml (way too little to do anything useful with) to 100 ml are collected.

Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated keeps more fluid in your veins, making the blood draw easier. Avoid coffee and other caffeinated drinks, which may dehydrate you. If you don't need to fast, eat breakfast 1–2 hours before the test.
