Luigi's Mansion: Princess Daisy's Quest - Chapter 1 - AlternisLiz (2024)

Chapter Text

One sunny Autumn day, Daisy was baking some chocolate chip cookies in her kitchen. As she mixed the cookie batter, she saw leaves in different shades of red, brown, orange, and yellow falling off the trees outside. Daisy smiled at the beautiful scenery and thought about Luigi. Later tonight, she would go with him to Peach's castle for a double date with Mario and Peach. A few weeks before the date, Peach had called everyone on the phone and asked that everyone bring something for the date. So Daisy volunteered to bake cookies. Daisy took an ice cream scooper, scooped out some dough, and put little round balls on a cookie tray. Then she put the tray into the oven. She looked at the clock. It was two o'clock.

"I need to start getting ready," Daisy said.

Not wanting to leave the cookies alone, she called in a Taodette to watch them so they wouldn't burn. Once Toadette was in the kitchen, Daisy walked to her wardrobe room. She entered the room and looked in the mirror. Flour and brown sugar were all over her apron, dress, and face.

"What a mess!" She exclaimed. "I better go take a bath and change my clothes!"

Daisy got a clean dress, exited the wardrobe, and headed upstairs to the bathroom. The bathroom had a silver floor, porcelain walls, and an enormous tub in the middle with towels on the right side. On the northern left of the room was a room with a toilet and a sink, while the north right of the bathroom had a changing room with clean towels and a place to put clean clothes. Near the changing room entrance was a laundry basket with dirty laundry. Daisy took off her apron and dress, got some clean towels, walked to the tub, turned on the faucet, and poured in some bubble bath. Water began filling the tub. After the tub filled a bit, she stuck her toe in the water. "Perfect!" Daisy said and sat down.

As Daisy was washing, she looked around the bathroom. It was clean and quiet. "That's right," Daisy said. "It was last year this time." One year ago, this castle had become infested with ghosts.

Daisy thought about King Boo. After having his plans foiled by Luigi, the king of boos was given to Professor E. Gadd and turned into a portrait where he would stay for all eternity, or so everyone hoped. Last time, Professor Gadd put the painting outside while the gallery was being cleaned. While the professor was cleaning, he heard a child disturbing his pictures. So Prof. Gadd put down his feather duster and rushed outside. When he came out, Prof. Gadd saw Bowser Jr. running away, laughing with Kamek carrying a brown sack that had a rectangular shape. After seeing that King Boo's portrait had been stolen, the professor gave chase. But Kamek used a magic spell to teleport himself and the Koopa prince away, leaving the professor frustrated and worried. After escaping the professor, Bowser Jr. ordered Kamek to free King Boo with a magic spell. Once King Boo was free, he began infesting Daisy's castle with boos.

A chill ran up Daisy's spine as she remembered the moment King Boo captured her. "Hopefully, the professor still has King Boo locked away, and something like that never happens again," Daisy said.

She finished washing, rinsed the soapsuds off her, got out of the tub, and dried herself off. Then she let the water out, went to the changing room, and put on the clean dress she had brought from her wardrobe. She exited the bathroom and went to her room. Daisy took off her crown, grabbed her hairbrush, and began brushing her hair. She looked at the clock on the nightstand to her right. The time was 2:30. "Perfect timing," Daisy said. Suddenly, Daisy heard a knock at the door as she put her crown back on.

"Hello, Princess?" a voice said.

"Hello, Toadette," Daisy replied. "Are the cookies done baking?"

"Yes, but that's not why I'm here."

"What's the matter?"

"Mario is on the phone, and he sounds worried about something. Come to the kitchen as soon as you can!"

Daisy opened the door and hurried to the kitchen with Toadette. When they got there, another Toadette handed the phone to Daisy.

"Hello Mario, what's the matter?"

"Hello, Princess," Mario said. "I'm calling about my bro, Luigi. Has he been to your castle recently?"

"No, he hasn't," Daisy replied. "Is he at Peach's castle?"

"No, he isn't. I thought I'd meet him at the castle when I came, but he wasn't there. Princess Peach hasn't seen him either."

"Have you tried calling him?"

"I've tried for four days, and he hasn't answered. I hope he's alright. I would investigate his house, but Bowser's been up to his old tricks again. I'm worried that if Luigi's in trouble, Bowser may try to kidnap Peach while I rescue him. Please help Luigi!"

"Don't worry, Mario," Daisy assured. "I'll make sure Luigi is safe."

"Thank you so much!"

"I'll see you later with Luigi."

"Bye-bye."

Daisy hung up the phone.

"Hey, Toadettes, I need you to take the cookies to Peach's castle. I'm going to Luigi's house."

"Is everything ok?" A Toadette asked.

"I don't have time to explain. I have to hurry."

Without another word, Princess Daisy rushed out the door.
