#UNGA78 Climate Week begins today. Four years ago, I entered the UN HQ grounds full of high hopes. Before COVID, major climate emergencies, before the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, and before the war in Ukraine. We had major challenges even then, but it was still more optimistic than now as the world is grappling with an increase in authoritarianism. With tensions arising, and climate extremities worsening every year, there is still time for diplomacy and collective action. Let's hope that the UN General Assembly can bring together nations to work towards a more peaceful and sustainable future.

It is crucial to have leaders who prioritize the well-being of their citizens and work towards the greater good.
